Cold Cranking Amperage

After a 12-month stand, a calcium maintenance-free battery actually gains cold cranking power! A hybrid type loses almost 9% of its capacity, while low-antimony types lose 12%. This is especially significant for the lower-capacity batteries.

Reserve Capacity

While in storage, without recharging, a calcium battery retains most of its capacity, whereas hybrids lose more than 65%, and low-antimony, 95% of their reserve capacity.

In fact, after 12 months without charging, low-antimony and many hybrid batteries will have to be scrapped, while the Nissan Maintenance-free calcium battery recharges nicely with no loss in capacity.

Water Loss

A hybrid battery gasses (loses water) at a rate six times greater than that of a calcium battery. A low-antimony battery gasses at a rate twelve times greater than that of a calcium battery.
